Sept. 23, 2011

My PawPaw went Home to be with the Lord on Sept. 23. I am rejoicing in the knowledge of knowing that he is walking streets of gold and he is able to see and walk. I've prayed for years that he would regain his sight and when God decided to take him, He answered my prayer. I may not have seen that miracle on earth, but I know once he was absent in body, he was present with the Lord; therefore, he was able to see.

I have been very blessed to have had two grandfathers that never waivered from the Truth. They believed in being filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in the precious name of Jesus and living in holiness. Thank God for these precious men of God that will forever be remembered.

Day at the Park

Wow, I have let a lot of time go by without posting anything. My little man is growing up so fast. We went to the Springville Park about a month and a half ago and I took some pictures of Ry with the beautiful scenery that is there. The lighting and the weather were perfect! He does good most of the time. He was more interested in playing on the "swide" (aka, slide). LOL. But the slide was a good bribe for him to sit/stand still for some photos for mommy. :)

Wearing his Daddy's entry #
Riding Reno

This is one of my fav pictures of Rylan and a horse. It shows his love for them. :)

The fam at the Horse Show this past weekend. Lots of 1st place ribbons and fun!

My little model ...haha.
We got to see little cousin Brennan (or "baby" as Ry calls him)
"Let me tell you about my horses..."

We had a great time this past weekend in Sulligent. We got to visit with my grandma and aunts/uncles/cousins. There were lots of laughs and we really enjoyed spending time with our family. Saturday we went to the Walking Horse Show and Dad entered two of his horses and came home with several 1st place, one 2nd, and a 4th place. Dad and Butch showed the horses quite well and we just had a great time. Rylan, of course, enjoys seeing all the horses. He actually got his chance to ride and we let him sport his Daddy's Entry #. :)

August 29, 2010

August 29th will mark one year since Butch and I lost what would have been our second child to a miscarriage at 8 weeks. That was one of the hardest things we have ever went through as husband/wife and parents. We were scheduled to have our first ultrasound to hear the heartbeat on August 30th. Instead, we had the ultrasound and saw nothing. Our hearts were in a million pieces. We already had such high hopes and dreams about what it was going to be like having another baby in the family. We had begun to prepare Rylan for being a big brother and telling him about the baby in Mommy's tummy. Of course, he wasn't understanding all of it yet (which was for the best). God only knows whether it would have been a boy or girl. My only comfort is in knowing that he/she is surrounded by a Heavenly host of angels and the one true living God. God had a reason and plan for us - we don't always understand at the time, but He knows best.

Baby, you will forever be in our hearts!

Little Redneck Rylan...shorts and boots..haha
His love for horses is amazing...but he didn't have a chance. Both grandfathers and his daddy have always had a love for them too. :)
Ry loves to smile and laugh!

It's Been a While...

Wow, looking back at this blog brings back so many memories. My only regret is not keeping up with it after Rylan turned 1. He is now the BIG 2 and I have a whole year with no funny stories, mile stones, or new words written down. How depressing...

BUT - I'm going to start it up again. I may have missed out on the past year, but I'm going to try and catch it up! Rylan is such a joy and I want to share him with everyone

Rylan turned 2 on April 24th, which happened to be Easter this year. We didn't have a big party for him. There was so much going on and something scheduled every weekend! But Grandma made him a cake and we celebrated him =)

There are so many things I've learned about him. He LOVES horses...he can't get enough of them. If you meet him for the first time, he will definitely saying something about horses. He hates it when his hands are dirty; he may even wipe his hands on you just to get his clean! Swimming is a real big winner with him. He has absolutely no fear and will jump in and have the biggest smile when he comes up out of the water. When I'm singing, he will try to sing louder than me...maybe he's trying to cover up the bad noise he hears from me, I don't know! LOL. He still doesn't particularly like to be in his carseat unless he has a DVD to watch. He loves to just talk and jabber about everyone he knows. He will go through everyone's names and say them - it's hilarious! He thinks that all elderly people are Maw-Maw and Paw-Paw's. He knows when you are hurt cause he says "You otay?" He also can sense when you need a hug and he is the best hugger in the world!

I will continue to share with you some things here and there about the best little boy ever!

The pictures are from our family vacation in Destin this month. We had a great time, but I think Rylan enjoyed it more than any of us. So long for now.

Finally - portraits

We went this past Saturday and finally got some portraits done of Rylan. We did the 1 year old and some other fun ones! I usually just take my own with my camera but I wanted to get some "real professional" ones done. They turned out real well and I was very pleased with them! Rylan did real well until he got tired in the last few with the suit. I hope you all enjoy them!!!
