A Thank You

Thank you to all of you who attended the baby shower at Sis.Tina's house. (By the way, thank you Sis. Tina for letting us use your beautiful home!) I really don't know how to describe in words how grateful I really am...as you could tell by my sobbing during the "speech". It's been a long 3 years we've been away from New Life and we miss it terribly. Even when you know you're in the will of God, sometimes it's not easy to let go. To all of my Praise Team family - those were the best years of my life and I will never forget the laughs and tough times we had. I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness in wanting to give me a shower that I will never forget. I knew I had made friends for life when I joined the praise team and we all became a big family, and for that I'm very thankful.

To all of you who are not on the praise team, but attend New Life, you are my family too! Thank you so much for taking time out of your Saturday evening to come and shower me with gifts - that were awesome by the way! God truly has blessed you when He gives you an awesome church family. I could never give back all you've given me over the years. There have been many of you who have been role models in my life and that is what is helping me be the pastor's wife and Sunday school teacher that I am today. I'm not being boastful - what ever I have become is because of special people like Sis. Sutton & Sis. Charlotte, who live a Godly example and are great leaders in the Kingdom of God. I hope that I am a third of what they are.

I think I've gotten off the subject big time, but I did want to let everyone know that I appreciate all the gifts and the wonderful party we had! I won't ever forget it!

I will be posting some pictures soon. So stay tuned!!

33 weeks

Well we are winding it down....we have less than 7 weeks to go, but the growth of our little squirt has not wound down at all. In fact, he is getting bigger and bigger. But that's a good thing. I'm finding it's more and more inconvenient to do things now that I have a belly the size of a basketball in my way! Haha. But it's been well worth it. Rylan will be my reward for all the aches and pains! =) I'll be surprised if I remember any of it once I have him in my arms. Oh...I can't wait.

My cousin Allison had her little girl yesterday and she is gorgeous! She named her Kamilah (Ca-me-luh) meaning perfect. She weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz. and was 20 3/4 in. long. I've spent the last two days holding this little baby and cuddling her and looking forward to having my own little boy very soon! Here are several pictures of our new addition to the family.

32 weeks

It's been a while since I updated on the development of our little man...or our "not so little" man. I will be 32 weeks this Saturday and one step closer to having my baby in my arms. He is about 4 lbs. now and is 17 inches long. He is trying to escape from my belly - or that's what it feels like. I know he is running out of room to rock and roll like he used to, so now all he can do is poke and prod at me and kick HARD! He gets real energetic sometimes and just does drumrolls it feels like. The hiccups are another thing that's precious in itself (unless you're trying to sleep!!) He gets those quite often now...about 4-5 times a day. At least his lungs are getting practice with the hiccups. The heavy news: I can expect our miracle-gro muffin to gain about a half a pound of weight per week from now until about two weeks before birth. That means more weight to carry around!!! But the healthier he is, the better.
I have never enjoyed anything as much as I have this pregnancy. As all of my followers know from my previous post that Butch and I had tried for about a year without getting pregnant. So when we did get pregnant, it was such a blessing and miracle. I have had rough spots in the pregnancy and the gestational diabetes has not been a walk in the park. But Rylan is worth anything I have to change or go through. He is my ultimate reward for the bumps in the road. I can not wait to have him in my arms and be the best mommy I can be for him. It's hard to believe that the pregnancy is almost over, but I'm glad to be getting closer to seeing my little man's face, hands and feet...Thank God for the reward of children.

Just thoughts....

I'm still trying to figure out if Rylan looks like Butch any...and I believe he does. Most people have said he favors me in the 4D pictures (because of the BIG cheeks), but I see Butch's looks in this 4D picture compared to the baby picture of him above. It's really neat and I'm glad he has characteristics of Butch. I started feeling bad because everyone was saying he looked like me...but I'm becoming more convinced that he is going to favor his daddy! =) I know he's going to come out just like God intends him to, but it's fun to try and figure out what he's going to look like!

More Saturday Activity

Tripp gave Butch a hard time by kicking every time Butch tried to lift his back leg. So they played Ring around the rosie pole!
Tripp finally gave in once he realized he wasn't trying to hurt him.

I meant to post these on the same day we finished the bookshelf and toy chest, but I didn't have time. We spent some extra time outside with our little Tripp. He will be 1 year old on March 31. He "was" my pride and joy when he was born and I have invested a lot of time into him. But since I found out I was pregnant I haven't been able to mess with him very much. So Butch and Dad have tried to keep him learning new things and helping him form good habits. These are pictures of the trouble we had with him on Saturday. Butch was trying to clean out his hoofs, which he's never had done before. When he was a younger I trained him to lift his legs for me with no problem. He would lift them for you and not put up a fight, but it's been a while since anyone messed with his legs...so he gave Butch a rough time! It was fun to watch though.

Us Pregnant Girls Stick Together....

This is one of my dad's mares, Princess, who is due April 17, 2009...bless her heart, she's been pregnant since May 13, 2008!! I feel for her having to be pregnant that long, but she really doesn't have to deal with the day to day struggles I do. I'm getting to the point where shaving my legs is becoming very difficult and putting on my tennis shoes (which happen to be the only shoes that don't let my feet hurt) is a definite hassle! I don't know if she gets out of breath, but I sure do! Rylan likes to curl up on the left side of my belly and his little rear "butts up" to my rib cage and it makes it very difficult for me to sit or drive because it's very uncomfortable. So I try to push him down and he moves right back up there because that's where he likes it I reckon. I love the fact that I can know where he's at because he's getting so big now it's very evident. It's pretty neat. But anyway...I got off subject. Today, after church, we went home and Dad and Mom came over too. Dad got Princess out of the pasture and they were talking about how her little colt/filly is more on her right side than on her left and I told them I knew how she felt because Rylan is more on my left than my right. So Dad wanted to take some pictures of how obvious it was that her right side stuck out more. Then Mom told me to stand by her so she could get a picture of us pregnant girls! haha. Isn't it hilarious that we're taking pictures of me and a pregnant horse!! Well I just wanted to share some of our silliness with y'all....because it was definitely silly. =)

Finished Project

We finished a project finally!! We got the bookshelf and toy chest painted and they are in the nursery ready to be used! I'm so glad to finally be getting some things done. We had a very productive day. Butch and I started early this morning and worked hard until about 5:00 pm this evening and finally came inside. Once we were inside we started cleaning house, washing clothes, vacuuming (until my vacuum decided to quit working for no reason!!), and washing dishes. Then I cooked supper for us - tacos! (real easy and fast!) Now I'm ready to get these hurting feet and aching back to bed...'Night!

Another Project Yay!

We are trying to get all of our projects finished for Rylan's room...it's definitely a work in progress. I have a bookshelf and toy chest that I've had 20+ years that I mentioned in a previous post, that we have got to sand down and repaint. So yesterday after we got home from the ultrasound we went outside in this beautiful weather and started sanding! We are planning on painting them Saturday when it will be extra warm so they will dry fast. We have a fun time working on these little projects together. It's a great time to communicate and enjoy one another. Of course, we talked about our little Rylan most of the time we were outside because we were so excited about seeing his little face. I think we even went back and forth saying "no, I think he looks like you" a million times! Haha. It doesn't matter who he looks like as long as he is healthy and safe. I'm more eager to meet him now. It's amazing what a little glimpse of something can do to you! It has consumed my thoughts ever since we saw him. It's like..."that's my child inside my womb, the one who kicks and punches and wakes me up during the midnight hours...." But he is such a joy already and I'm more in love with him every day....

Welllllll.......HE'S BEAUTIFUL & PERFECT!

and yes, he did smile a lot!

Butch and I couldn't have prepared ourselves for what we saw today. Our little boy was nothing like we had pictured - he was more beautiful/handsome than what we could have ever imagined him being! He has a perfect little pug nose and what looks to be, big eyes. And he definitely has some big cheeks! Hmm..I wonder where he gets that from! Haha. Butch and I have looked at all the photos that were taken today about 15 times - we can't enough of our little man!! Butch thinks he looks like me, but I see a lot of characteristics from Butch...so we're in between. Let's just face it - he will be a mixture of us! Duh!

One definite good thing is that he is already in the head down position! He's getting ready to make his debut into the world. And boy, I'm so ready for him to.
